We have been rather silent lately as we’ve been organizing our thoughts since Roulette City finished screening at Sinema Old School (an independent cinema in Singapore). We have also been editing the short films ‘Blue Card’ and ‘Stamps’, which were filmed in Macau earlier this year. The Sony TV series ‘The Game’, which Thomas played a leading role in, is still airing on Singapore’s Channel U. Other than developing new scripts, Thomas has also recently bought a new motorbike. Vrooooooom!
The Sony-produced, China-filmed TV series called ‘The Game’, which Thomas Lim played a principal role in is currently airing in Malaysia on TV2. This TV series aired nationwide in China in 2008, and will air in Singapore later in July 2010.
Island Man Pictures wishes all our blog readers, fans, and friends a very Happy New Year. May 2010 bring success, peace and happiness. Cheers to a great start in the new decade!

It saddens me to hear news of David Carradine’s passing.
I’ve worked with him on two occasions in China in 2006 and remember him fondly as a great actor, guitar player and Kung-Fu man.

Island Man Pictures wishes you a very Merry X’mas. May all your dreams come true in 2009. Remember to keep an eye out for the completion of our film ‘Roulette City’ in the new year!
A 24 episode TV series titled ‘The Game’ has just been aired on CCTV8 (China Central Television). Thomas Lim played a principal role in the show. Below are some photographs.
I’m sorry to announce that the ‘Roulette City’ movie shoot has been postponed to (tentatively) November due to my personal family situation.
Something happened, and I am currently in Singapore to be with my family during this difficult time.
My apologies to the crew and cast members, as well as friends and audiences who were following the progress of the making of the film.
A 24 episode Sony Pictures TV drama series titled ‘The Game’, or 破茧而出 in Chinese, will be on air at CCTV8, China Central Television 8, from Monday 22 Sept, 20:25hrs.
Thomas Lim plays a principal role ‘Zhou Fan’ in the show. So, do remember to catch it.
Before I leave the ‘Wizard of Oz’ behind me and focus on writing and directing my new feature ‘Roulette City’, here’s something you might find interesting.
In my first ever theatre production, I acted as a Cat in ‘Cat City’ (left Singapore, 2000) and like we all know, I was most recently the Lion in the land of Oz (right Hong Kong, 2008). I would like to think that somehow the Cat has grown to be the Lion. Don’t know exactly what that means, but it’s fun to think that anyway!

I’ve just finished performing as the Cowardly Lion in the Broadway Musical ‘The Wizard of Oz’ in Hong Kong. It went from 21-24 August and was produced by the Hong Kong Chorus Society. We performed to a live orchestra conducted by internationally acclaimed conductor Mr. Henry Shek - a great honor for sure. We had a great run and I had lots of fun.
The Lion suit however, did become heavier with time (as I was getting more tired), and sweatier, and quite smelly after awhile. My dressing room began to smell like a real zoo halfway through and well, hopefully it means I’m really getting into character.
It was of course, most comforting to be working with the director and old time friend Jacob Yu, and the cast was wonderful, not to mention the 50 odd kids being a handful. ha. Here are some pictures to show.
Welcome to the new Island Man Pictures blog! I have just finished performing in the Broadway musical ‘Wizard of Oz’ in Hong Kong a week ago (tired!) and am now back in Macau, sweating to shape up the script for ‘Roulette City’ which we will shoot later in October. I shall be posting new entries on this blog website really soon. So keep checking in for more updates on my personal activities and those of my company ‘Island Man Pictures’.
